At present, the Institute recognises two levels of professional accreditation:
1. Associate Member (AMInstKT)
2. Member (MInstKT)
Other classes of membership will be established in due course (such as “Fellow” for highly experienced individuals, “Student” for those in undergraduate education and “Affiliate” for individuals and organisations interested in the topic, but who would not qualify for accredited membership).
Who Should Join?
Membership of the Institute is for anyone whose work involves generating knowledge, transfering knowledge or applying knowledge in the development of products and services. Knowledge transfer professionals may be involved in a wide range of activities, including for example:

IKT 2007/08 membership rates are as follows: Members: £100.00* and Associates: £75.00*
*A 25% discount on the first year’s membership fee will be available to the first 500 members. The discounted fees are Member: £75.00; Associate: £56.00;
Retired members pay the Associate Membership fee.

If we feel that it is necessary to gain a further understanding of your experience record we will contact one or more of the referees. You should therefore ensure that the individuals that you have nominated are aware that you have submitted an application for membership.

We aim to communicate with members as to the outcome of their application within six weeks of receipt.
You will be notified by email outlining the reasons why your application has not been accepted.
