A core mission of the IKT is to promulgate good practice in knowledge transfer. This can be partly achieved through practitioners sharing good practice, and reporting this to a wider audience of practitioners. This also involves digesting the results of research into innovation and knowledge transfer practice and impact generated by the best academic researchers - some of which may challenge traditional practice and approaches to KT. There is much to be gained by breaking-down some of the barriers that have existed between the practitioners' community and academic researchers interested in knowledge transfer. This benefit will travel both ways.
So we plan to launch an knowledge transfer journal which combines the best of community self-learning, with well-informed and relevant empirical evidence as to what activities are most likely to lead to profitable or economic and social improvements. The journal will combine short articles on relevant practice and policy along side an abstract service providing evidence-based information innovation and knowledge transfer. Members will be able to comment and debate articles via this site's blogging function. In the meantime we will be encouraging members and non-members alike to contribute to this journal, and if you are interested please contact the Institute via:e-journal@ikt.org.uk
